Dance Gavin Dance Announces Ninth Album "Afterburner" and Releases Single 'Prisoner'

March 15, 2020

Sacramento, California's very own Dance Gavin Dance is back and they have announced their ninth full-length album Afterburner. To go along with the announcement of their latest single and first single off the new album titled "Prisoner".

According to Will Swan (lead guitar), “‘Prisoner’ is a captivating piece of the eclectic puzzle that is Afterburner. It showcases yet another leap in our constant evolution, and I can’t wait for people to hear what this album has in store.

Founded in 2005, this band consists of Tilian Pearson and Jon Mess on vocals, Will Swan on guitar/vocals, Tim Feerick on bass, and Matt Mingus on drums. They managed to mesh post-hardcore, screamo, and progressive rock with some heavy thick grooves in between creating their very own signature sound. Over the years, this band has established themselves and have a dedicated fan base with good reason.

The group delivers quirky, technically-challenging post-hardcore that utilizes humor in a generally morose genre. A riff can go from the soil to the stars – all meaning something.

Noisey

Heavy, ambitious, and sometimes witty rock that seizes on the past few decades of edge-dwelling music, places it all in a blender, and puts the speed on high.” –Boston Globe

Those married to traditional song structures need not apply, but if you fancy feeling like your brain is in a pinball machine, [DGD] will take you out of this world.” –Kerrang!
