New Music Alert: Timeshares

October 26, 2018

A few weeks ago I wrote about Timeshares, a pop-punk Philadelphia based band with a hint of alternative-country. On October 19, they released their second EP of the year titled “Out There”. Even after giving themselves a reputation of “a bad habit. . . taking a few years between releases of new material,” Timeshares proved to us that they are still able to create relatable music that will inspire us for years to come. If you enjoy musicians like Jeff Rosenstock, Citizen, Balance and Composure, Hawthorne Heights and Spraynard, Timeshares is the perfect band for you.

On their Bandcamp they shared, “We were so in love with On Life Support, the process and the product, it seemed obvious to go do something like that again.” And they did just that. Timeshares released something special to them in hopes that we would feel the same way. There is something so unique about Timeshares which is apparent in these EPs. These four songs share the struggles about love, lost and the ideas of surviving in society as well as everything in-between.

The third song, “Pull the Stars Down” is for the country fans that may want to enjoy a hint of alternative or pop-punk. This song, to me, is a lovely representation on how quickly time passes and how soon our memories could disappear. Which, is something we all seem to struggle with on a daily basis.

Overall, this EP, paired with “On Life Support,” is a perfect mix of sounds for everyone from pop-punk fans to country fans. Timeshares is the band that brings the variety of music lovers together as one.
